Palestine - Zahia's trip

Zahia is four years old girl affected by acute myeloid leukemia. Zahia Al-hawia lives in Gaza City in a three-storey house surrounded by the love and care of her parents and grandparents. She needs to go to Tel Aviv every two weeks for treatment at the Dana-Dwek Children's Hospital where she stayed already for an entire year. The health system in Gaza is collapsing and most people are forced to go abroad to Israel, Egypt, and Giordania for treatment. Leaving the Gaza Strip every time is a nigthmare for Zahia: car changes, stressing check-ups, long waits at the border with Israel, temporary accomodation at the hospital. However, once she gets to the Dana-Dwek Children’s Hospital, tiredeness, tension and historical conflicts (between Israelis and Palestinians) disappear and Zahia is simply a girl who needs to be treated and loved.
